Sports are essential for our physical development and good health
in general. We offer several athletic disciplines at our school,
all of which are practiced with clear objectives in mind.
Track
& Field and Phys Ed, as well as Hand-Eye Coordination
Skills (at the Infants level) form the foundation for all sports.
They aid children in getting to know their bodies, and teach them
the proper stance and position for every situation.
Soccer,
Volleyball and Basketball teach children to work as a team,
follow orders, respect the rules and stay in position on the field
or court.
Swimming takes place in the summer months. A sport that builds general coordination
skills, swimming also gives children a chance to relax and enjoy
themselves.
While
not actually a sport, Haikido is a martial art that enhances
control over the mind and body through disciplined training.
Mountain
Biking, recently added as an optional activity, not only provides
physical development, but also offers children the chance to explore
our beautiful surroundings, just as they do on nature hikes in the
Valley, where they can enjoy striking views and flora of all sorts.
